An important Buddhist tourist spot, Solampur is a village in the Bhandraipokhari Police station of Bhadrak district. Recent excavations have taken this village out of anonymity and placed it as a place of archaeological and religious importance. The village is famous for the discovery of a large number of Mahayanic and Tantric Buddhist images and a notable slab of stone depicting eight great events of Gautam Buddha’s life, with the creative excellence and skill pertaining to the style of art of the early mediaeval period.

Approach : By road Bhadrak on the National Highway No. 5 and by rail it is on the Kolkata - Chennai route.
